Job Description
The Advanced Arborist should be skilled in all our tree care services, including tree climbing and residential consultations. This person may operate under the supervision of the crew leader on job sites, or independently when preparing quotes and conducting consultations. They should participate in managing the job site and support the crew leader and the owner with tasks such as bidding, consultations and basic tool and equipment maintenance.
We are looking for local people or those interested in settling in the Outaouais region. Basic French reading and speaking are mandatory.
Requirements
- At least three years of experience in tree climbing, or ISA Arborist Certification, or advanced education in arboriculture.
- In-depth knowledge of tree physiology
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced tree care methods, such as pruning, cabling / bracing, complex dismantles (removals), soil amendment, and related techniques
- Display high proficiency and superior safe practices in their approach to tree climbing
- Highly skilled at identifying a wide range of tree health and structural issues
- Excellent at engaging with clients and providing tailored advice on how to care for their trees
- Demonstrates advanced proficiency in handling specialized tools and equipment
- Strong skills in managing job sites
- Skilled in operating heavy vehicles with trailers
- Demonstrates strong team spirit, enthusiasm, initiative, and a disciplined approach to work
- Good physical shape
- Valid driver’s licence
- Basic French reading and speaking are mandatory.
Assets
- Experience in contract sales (quotes)
- Consulting experience (ISA-certified arborist or advanced studies in arboriculture)
Compensation and Terms of Employment
- Competitive salary, starting at $35/hour, is negotiable based on qualifications, experience and performance
