Advanced Arborist

Job Description

The Advanced Arborist should be skilled in all our tree care services, including tree climbing and residential consultations. This person may operate under the supervision of the crew leader on job sites, or independently when preparing quotes and conducting consultations. They should participate in managing the job site and support the crew leader and the owner with tasks such as bidding, consultations and basic tool and equipment maintenance.

We are looking for local people or those interested in settling in the Outaouais region. Basic French reading and speaking are mandatory.

Requirements

  • At least three years of experience in tree climbing, or ISA Arborist Certification, or advanced education in arboriculture.
  • In-depth knowledge of tree physiology
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced tree care methods, such as pruning, cabling / bracing, complex dismantles (removals), soil amendment, and related techniques
  • Display high proficiency and superior safe practices in their approach to tree climbing
  • Highly skilled at identifying a wide range of tree health and structural issues
  • Excellent at engaging with clients and providing tailored advice on how to care for their trees
  • Demonstrates advanced proficiency in handling specialized tools and equipment
  • Strong skills in managing job sites
  • Skilled in operating heavy vehicles with trailers
  • Demonstrates strong team spirit, enthusiasm, initiative, and a disciplined approach to work
  • Good physical shape
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Basic French reading and speaking are mandatory.

Assets

  • Experience in contract sales (quotes)
  • Consulting experience (ISA-certified arborist or advanced studies in arboriculture)

Compensation and Terms of Employment

  • Competitive salary, starting at $35/hour, is negotiable based on qualifications, experience and performance
  • Full-time employees receive one week of paid summer holiday

 

 

 

 

Climbing Arborist

Job Description

Supervised by the team leader, the Climbing Arborist handles all our tree care services. The candidate should be comfortable working on ropes at height and using specialized ladders and stepladders. They should show proficiency in the use of tools like chainsaws, hedge trimmers, stump grinders and brush chippers confidently. The Climbing Arborist will also handle routine upkeep of tools and equipment, under the guidance of the crew leader.

We are looking for local people or those interested in settling in the Outaouais region. Basic French reading and speaking are mandatory.

Requirements

  • At least one year of relevant experience or a Diplôme d’études professionnelles en Élagage, a College Certificate in Urban Forestry, or equivalent training
  • Demonstrated proficiency in safe tree climbing techniques
  • Strong teamwork, high energy, proactive attitude, and rigorous work ethic
  • Good physical health
  • Ability to work independently with specialized tools, particularly chainsaws
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Basic French reading and speaking are mandatory.

An arborist will visit your property, without prior notice, within 5 business days to:

  • Assess the required work on site
  • Prepare a quote tailored to your situation
  • Email you a proposal for the work

Arborist Consultation

Would you like to get expert advice and recommendations directly at your property?

An ISA Certified Arborist will meet you on site to discuss the situation, assess the condition of your trees and help you make decisions tailored to your needs based on clear, concrete information.

This visit is ideal for:

  • Weak, diseased or dying trees
  • Presence of insects or fungi
  • Dangerous branches or at risk of falling
  • Root, soil or drainage problems
  • Assessment of all trees on the property and preparation of a maintenance plan

An impartial evaluation will help you understand your trees’ needs and choose the right options with confidence.

Fee : $160 + taxes

Includes a visit of up to 45 minutes within our usual service area (Aylmer and Hull).

Please note:

  • Pricing may vary depending on your location and the type of service requested.
  • Additional fees may apply for:
    – visits outside our usual service area
    – visits requiring more than 45 minutes
  • The visit does not include:
    – an aerial inspection (climbing the tree)
    – a written expert report
  • If work is required, we can provide recommendations in the form of a written quote at no additional cost.
